The Blount County Chapter of the American Red Cross is pleased to be able to
offer training courses in the areas of Health & Safety,
Disaster Services, and
Aquatics.
For descriptions of specific courses or to see our training schedule, please

Most of the American Red Cross core areas provide opportunities for
reaching both adults and youth. We have developed videos, brochures, workbooks, comic books,
and other materials that encourage open discussion of preparedness and prevention issues. The American Red Cross approach involves
providing age-appropriate information and educational materials from an early age through
adolescence, and adulthood.
Health & Safety Training
Red Cross Preparedness and caregiving programs help people develop the skills and
knowledge to care for themselves and others. Programs in first aid, CPR
and AED are available for any age and can be tailored to the needs of specific
groups and individuals. Whether you work with children, want training for
employees, are a professional rescuer, or simply want to know how to help
someone in an emergency, the American Red Cross has a program for you.
The Blount County chapter is proud to be able to provide many of our Health
& Safety courses as Blended Learning classes, combining online coursework with
classroom skills training. Please see our Health & Safety course list
for additional information.
Disaster Services
The American Red Cross depends on
people like you every day to help provide emergency assistance to our neighbors
in crisis, whether it is a fire or a flood, or other emergency situation. During
a disaster response volunteers have large roles in every aspect of a relief
operation. From running shelters to operating a mobile feeding unit, volunteers
make our work possible. In order to facilitate this, the American Red Cross
offers training courses that prepare volunteers to work in disaster services
roles.
"Introduction to Disaster"
is available online for self-study and other courses may become available for
self-study as well. There is no charge for most Disaster Services
Training.
Aquatics
The American Red Cross has been the leader in swimming and lifeguarding
since 1914. Now the winning tradition continues with an exciting new
collection of aquatics courses designed to make learning easier and to help you benefit
from the latest research on instructional techniques.
